Expanding your real estate firm by establishing a branch office in the Richmond area? Congratulations! To officially register your new branch with the Richmond Association of REALTORS® (RAR) and Central Virginia Regional MLS (CVR MLS), you'll need to complete and submit the 2025 RAR/CVR MLS New Firm/Branch Office Application. Here’s a step-by-step guide to walk you through the process.

Step 1: Download the Application

Start by downloading the required application form: 👉 2025 RAR/CVR MLS New Firm/Branch Office Application (PDF)

Print the form or complete it digitally if you have PDF editing software.

Step 2: Gather Required Information

You'll need to have the following details ready:

Office Information

  • Firm Name and Office Name (Branch name should differ from main office)

  • Branch Office Address (Must be a physical location—no P.O. Boxes)

  • Phone, Fax, and Email for the office

Managing Broker Info

  • Name of Managing Broker for the new branch

  • Broker License Number

  • Contact Details

Firm License Details

  • Firm License Number

Step 3: Indicate the Type of Application

In the “Application Type” section, clearly mark:

  • ✅ "Branch Office" (since you’re setting up a branch rather than a new firm)

You'll also need to indicate whether this is:

  • A REALTOR® membership only

  • An MLS participation only

  • Or both

Step 4: Authorization and Agreements

Ensure the Principal Broker of the firm signs off on the following:

  • RAR Membership Agreement

  • CVR MLS Participant Agreement

  • Branch Office Authorization

The Managing Broker of the branch will also need to sign to accept responsibility for the office.

Step 5: Pay Fees

Fees vary depending on the type of membership/participation requested. Common fees may include:

  • RAR Branch Office Dues

  • CVR MLS Participation Fees

You can contact RAR’s Membership Department at (804) 422-5000 or check the latest fee schedule at rarealtors.com for exact amounts.

Step 6: Submit the Application

Submit your completed and signed application to RAR in one of the following ways:

  • 📧 Email: [email protected]

  • 📬 Mail or In-Person:
    Richmond Association of REALTORS®
    8975 Three Chopt Road
    Richmond, VA 23229

Step 7: Wait for Confirmation

After your application is reviewed and approved, RAR will send a confirmation email that includes an invoice for the associated fees. Once payment is received, your branch office will be officially registered and eligible to access all RAR and/or CVR MLS services.
