What is the Fair Housing requirement?

Effective January 1, 2025, all new members of the National Association of REALTORS® are required to complete at least 2 hours of Fair Housing training within 90 days of applying for REALTOR membership and every 3 years thereafter. The purpose of this ongoing training is to ensure REALTORS® provide equal professional services as an essential part of our commitment to a higher ethical standard. Learn more about NAR's Fair Housing training requirement here.

How do I satisfy my Fair Housing requirement?
Options to satisfy this requirement can be found here.

I completed Fair Housing training with another school, and it is on DPOR. Why is it not on NAR?

Real Estate Schools will submit your credit information to DPOR, but they cannot submit your credit to NAR. Only your primary Local REALTOR Association can send the Fair Housing completion to NAR. You must send evidence of completion to [email protected] so we can report the completion date to NAR.

When is the Fair Housing Deadline?
All new members of the National Association of REALTORS® must complete at least 2 hours of Fair Housing training within 90 days of applying for REALTOR membership and every 3 years thereafter. This coincides with the Code of Ethics training deadline on December 31, 2027
