How long do I have to pay my application invoices? Where can I pay?

Invoices must be paid by noon on the last business day in the month of application.  Payment can be made through the secure link emailed to you upon creation of your account. Members can also log in to Member Hub through the RAR website to make payments.

What does billing look like moving forward? What is the schedule for dues and fees?

View the RAR yearly dues billing schedule and the CVR MLS Quarterly fees schedule here. Please note, RAR membership and a CVR MLS subscription are separate and have separate billing schedules.

Does RAR hold my real estate license? Can you help me activate my license, pay renewal fees, or assist with license requirements?

The Richmond Association of REALTORS® is a trade association that holds membership for real estate professionals wanting to align with the brand, Code of Ethics, and high professional standards of the National Association of REALTORS®. We require an active real estate license to join and maintain membership with RAR or a subscription to CVR MLS. However, RAR and CVR MLS are unrelated to state licensure.

In the state of Virginia, the Department of Professional and Occupation Regulation (DPOR) administers, holds, approves, activates, and inactivates licenses. Though we offer classes through our Real Estate School and can answer questions regarding your education requirements, we are unable to directly assist with licensing matters. Please reach out to DPOR if you have an issue with your real estate license.

What classes do I need to take to maintain my license? Does RAR offer these classes?

If you are a newly licensed agent, you will need to complete 16 hours of PLE courses within the first year of licensure. If you're not sure if you are needing PLE or CE classes, view your license on DPOR's website and review the Continued Education Tab.

RAR offers all PLE classes that you will be required to take, more information including exact class names and requirements can be found here. Additionally, if an on-demand option is preferred, you can complete your classes at any DPOR approved Real Estate School. We offer a discount code for the CE shop that can be found here.

How do I access virtual zoom classes?

You will receive an email containing a zoom link at 7am the morning of your virtual class. If you do not see the email, log into our learning platform, select virtual classes, then the specific class you're attending to find the link for class.

Please note, if your class is beginning soon and you're having trouble logging in call RAR at 804.422.5000 or email [email protected] for assistance. Admission into class closes 10 minutes after the class start time.

How can I receive a lockbox?

Email in at [email protected] or leave a voicemail at 804.422.5000 ext 3 with your name and MLS ID. The Member Services team will prepare a lockbox for you to pick up at our office 8975 Three Chopt Road, Richmond Virginia 23229 during office hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00PM).
